ingredients:
350 g of ground beef
70g red lentils
70 g round rice
1 egg
2 tablespoons tomato paste
2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
2 onions
400g peeled and chopped tomatoes (canned)
Salt and pepper
Olive oil
method:
1. Cook rice and lentils 15 minutes in a large pot of boiling salted water.
2. In a bowl, mix the minced meat with lentils and rice. Add the egg beaten, tomato paste and bread crumbs. Salt and pepper.
3. Fashion pellets of equal size with the mixture.
4. Peel and finely chop the onions. Melt them in a pan on low heat with olive oil.
5. Add the meatballs and brown them, turning often.
6. When they are golden, add the chopped tomatoes and simmer 5 to 10 minutes over low heat. Salt and pepper if necessary.
